Funeral services for Marilyn Gay Smith, 71, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017, will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Burial will be in McNeill Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
A native of Picayune, Miss., she was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Marilyn Gay was a loving mother, Nanny, sister, and friend, who will be truly loved and missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm Whitfield, Sr and Rosa Spiers Whitfield; her husband, William “Billy” Smith, Jr.; and her sister, Myra Faye Whitfield Ladner.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rhonda (Mike) Paxton, Tanya (Jon) Tomei, Allison (David) Goodman, Kim (Royce) Caswell, Crystal (Ben) Kennedy, and Tina (David) Brito; 23 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Vernon (Marissa) Whitfield, Malcolm (Marilyn) Whitfield, Jr. and her sister, Sheryl (Mark) Freeman.
