I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  Philippians 4:13
Mr. Jimmie Lee Magee was born in Williamsburg, Miss. on July 26, 1937 to the late D.C. and Dora Magee. He was born into a family of twelve children — seven boys and six girls. He continued to grow up as a boy in Williamsburg. As a young child, he was member of Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
He traveled all over the country as a young man, and eventually settled in the small town of Poplarville, Miss. where he met his true love Ms. Annie Lee Mills. They were soon joined in marriage and started their family. Jimmie and Annie had five children — three boys and two girls. They became members of Green Grove Baptist Church during their early twenties.  He was selected to serve as the Sunday School Superintendent and remained for 29 years. He was also the president of the brotherhood for 28 years and served as a deacon for over 30 years.  Jimmie worked in New Orleans for 45 years as a construction worker and transporter. He played many roles in the community.
On January 12, 2017, he departed his earthly home to his heavenly home in Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, La.
He leaves to cherish his memory his true love of 57 years Annie Lee Magee; five children, Michael  (Annette) Magee, Rev. Donald (Adrianne) Magee, Willie (Regina) Magee, Lisa (Quico) Ruiz all of Poplarville, Miss.  and Kim (Bobbie) Washington of Wasilla, Alaska; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 10 siblings; one uncle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 12 noon at Hart’s Chapel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will be in the Rose Park Cemetery. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
