Graveside memorial services for Wayland Roger Smith, Sr., 70, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016, will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Carl Heberg will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, Miss., he was an accountant with the State of Georgia and a member of Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Wayland was a member of the Joppa Shrine Temple, a US Army Captain Veteran. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Connis G. Smith and Dorothy Stockstill Smith; sister, Sharon Smith Lavinghouse.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Wayland R. (Robin) Smith, Jr.; daughter, LeRee A. Gomez; grandchildren, Evan Blake Smith, Alex Gomez; great-grandchildren, Ayden Smith and Adilyn Smith; mother of his children, Sheila E. Smith.
