Funeral services for Rev. Richard “Sonny” Blye, Jr., age 70, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Union Baptist Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Billy Galloway will officiate the service, assisted by Rev. Buddy Sheriff.
A native of  Logtown, Miss., he was a Pastor at several churches in Pearl River County and an auto mechanic. Sonny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was an avid deer hunter and a member of Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Lee Blye, Sr. and Tommy Lou  Scott Gerber; his son, Jamie Trevor Blye; and his brother, Albert Gerber.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Brenda Watkins Blye; his sons, Ricky (Angela) Blye and Scott  Blye; 3 grandchildren, Scott Tyler Blye, Benjamin Trevor Blye, and John Eugene Blye; and 2 great-grandchildren, Leland Griffin and Memphis Lane Blye.
