For the first time, the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce is having a Christmas party for members and staff to enjoy each other’s company.
“We know it’s a stressful time for everyone, so we, along with Silver Slipper Casino, came up with the idea to jingle and mingle in the spirit of the holiday season,” Chamber Executive Director Nuria Arias said.
The Jingle and Mingle event will be held at Fatty’s Seafood restaurant on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Food and drinks will be served at the event and there will be door prizes. Also, Santa Claus will take a break from his busy schedule to make an appearance and mingle with Chamber members, Arias said.
Arias asks participants to bring a business card to enter for a chance to win door prizes ranging from a free buffet to a free stay at the Silver Slipper Hotel. All of the cards will be placed in a bowl and the winner will be randomly chosen, Arias said.
“This party is going to be a lot of fun for everyone, and none of it would be possible without the Silver Slipper Casino,” Arias said.
The Silver Slipper Casino is sponsoring the event to show its support and celebrate its first year as a Chamber member.
“We’re hoping to set the tone for something new and to continue this fun event for the future years to come,” Arias said. “When the idea first came up, we all agreed that it was a great idea. It’s just a good way to get together and have a good time.”
