Some live to be 30, others live to be 13. Such is the story with our beautiful baby, Donovan. Born August 17, 2003 in Hattiesburg, Donovan quickly became the light of everyone’s life. He was gifted with humor and wit much beyond his years. A walking, taking almanac of sports facts. If you needed to know some obscure sports fact, Donovan was your man.
As the oldest of five, he was a natural born leader. He adored his siblings, although he would probably deny it. He had a lifetime of love and learning to give.
Unfortunately, Donovan died after a 5 month 24 day battle with hepatoblastoma, a form of childhood liver cancer. Our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same. Our beautiful boy is no longer suffering but now rejoicing at the feet of our Lord.
Donovan was met at Heaven’s gates by his grandparents Richard (Dick) and Holly Trudell.
Left here on Earth to cherish him are his parents, Chandler and Brandy Richardson; siblings, Edgerrin, Zoe, Iain, and Chandler; father, Dominique Brown; grandparents, Rev. Jimmy and Janie Richardson and Joyce and Herbert Brumfield. A host of family and friends, all too many to name, and an entire community of friends and faithful followers.
Our family would like to give a special thanks to Chris and Patricia Arthur, Joe and Jamie Taylor, Matt and Charlie Embry and the Picayune Police Department and to all of Donovan’s friends who made his last moments so amazing.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Picayune on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the service starting at 2:00 p.m. There will be no open casket at Donovan’s request.
Our family asks that the entire community come out and help us lay our hometown hero to rest.
In lieu of flowers,  please make donations to Donovan Trudell through First National Bank of Picayune, P. O. Box 848, Picayune, Miss. 39466.
