A two-vehicle accident in Carriere resulted in the hospitalization of four Louisiana residents on Sunday.
At 2:20 p.m., Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the intersection of Pink Smith Road and Highway 43 North, Troop K Public Information Officer Chase Elkins said.
Investigation into the accident determined a grey Ford F-150 was traveling west on Pink Smith Road when it failed to yield to a silver Chevrolet HHR traveling south on Highway 43, Elkins said.
The passenger side of the F-150 collided with the driver side of the HHR, Elkins said.
The driver of both vehicles and a passenger of the F-150 were transported by helicopter to Forrest General Hospital, he said.
The driver of the HHR was later identified as Paria Jackson, 54, of Bogalusa, La., and the driver of the F-150 was identified as Samantha Dreux, 41, of Slidell, La.
Dreux’s passenger was identified only as a white female; additional information was not available at press time, Elkins said.
The passenger of the HHR, identified as David Jackson, Jr. 59, was transported to Highland Community Hospital, Elkins said.
He said the severity of their injuries is unknown.
No citations were issued, Elkins said.
