Investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department are looking for several suspects alleged to have been involved in an armed robbery.
Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery on Thursday at the Liberty Road trailer park.
At 9:38 p.m. on Nov. 10, two male victims reported being robbed at gunpoint by four or five armed black men while visiting an acquaintance in the area, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
The victims told deputies that while visiting with the acquaintance, the suspects entered the residence and held the two men at gunpoint, he said.
Tucker said the victims could not definitively confirm whether there were four or five men involved in the robbery.
The female acquaintance was not robbed, he said.
During the robbery, the suspects took two cellphones, a wallet, hat, Nike Air Jordan shoes, a belt and an undetermined amount of currency, Tucker said.
The suspects fled the scene on foot. The victims met deputies a short distance from the trailer park to file a complaint, Tucker said.
The following day, a deputy located a potential suspect who was wanted for a contempt of court warrant, Tucker said.
The suspect was identified as Ransom Spencer Perkins, 30, who was arrested for the contempt of court warrant at 12 Panther Circle, located in the Liberty Road trailer park, at 2:07 p.m., Tucker said.
During a search of the suspect, deputies recovered two cellphones believed to be the ones taken during the robbery. Investigators are still determining whether the devices belong to the victims and if Perkins was involved in the robbery, Tucker said.
Pending the results of further investigation, Perkins could be additionally arrested for the armed robbery, he said.
Tucker said the department is still investigating the identity of all suspects allegedly involved.
