Corley unofficially takes runoff

As polls closed on Tuesday, unofficial results gave John Corley the lead in the race for Mississippi Legislative District 106,
In Pearl River County Corley received 59.78 percent of the vote, or 990 votes.
Greg Holcomb received 40 percent of the vote, or 665 votes, in Pearl River County.
Both absentee and affidavit ballots were included in the total 1,616 ballots cast, according to the Pearl River County Circuit Clerk’s office.
While District 106 covers 22 precincts in Pearl River County, it also covers two precincts in Lamar County.
Results reported from Lamar County to the Associated Press showed Holcomb received 72 percent of those votes, or 245 votes, and Corley received 28 percent, or 94 votes.
According to totals from both counties, Corley will likely win the District seat, with a total of 1,084 votes. Holcomb will finish with about 910 votes.
