Aubrey Guy Stroupe, 77, resident of the Pine Grove Community, lifelong resident of Tippah County and beloved husband of Juan Wood Stroupe, passed away Tuesday November 8, 2016 following an extended illness.
Services celebrating the life of Mr. Stroupe were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday November 10 at Chapman Church of Christ with Bro. Mark Lindley and Jody Criswell Officiating. Burial followed in Chapman Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born May 24, 1939 in Tippah County, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Nora Mae Dees Stroupe. Mr. Stroupe was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and married the love of his life, Juan Wood Stroupe on June 16, 1956. He attended Chapman Church of Christ and was self-employed in the timber industry most of his life and served 4 years on the South Tippah School Board of Trustees.
Mr. Stroupe will be remembered as an outstanding man of honor and integrity. The long days of hard work allowed him to support his wife and 4 children. He had a special love for the outdoors where he spent most of his time tending to his cattle and farm.
Visitation were on the day of the service from 12 Noon until service time at Chapman Church of Christ.
Those left to honor his memory are his children, Ricky Stroupe (Betty), Lisa Schaefer (Bobby Richardson) both of Tupelo and Dr. Heath Stroupe of Carriere, MS, 5 grandchildren, Westin and Tori Stroupe, Andrea, Katie and Ben (Courtney) Schaefer, a sister, Janice Thomas of Ripley, 2 brothers, Gene Stroupe of Ripley and Billy Stroupe of Booneville and other family members, Wesley (Allison) and Ricky Chisum, Joey and Josh Schaefer, Sonny and Matthew Garcia. He was also preceded in death by a son, Shane Stroupe (Pam Cossitt), 2 sisters, Geraldine Benefield and Jeanette Bullock and 3 brothers, Junior, Roy Fay and Reaford “Zeke” Stroupe.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Larry Simmons, Logan and Evan Yancey, Keith Bullock, Dennis Stroupe and Sonny Garcia. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Katie, Andrea and Ben Schaefer, Westin and Tori Stroupe.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Chapman Cemetery, 250 CR 550, Ripley, Miss. 38663.
