The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the circumstances concerning the death of a man found in Kiln over the weekend.
The unidentified body was discovered Sunday evening in the woods near Gardenia Street in Kiln, Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk said.
The body was found in a state of advanced decomposition indicating the man had possibly been deceased for several days, Faulk said.
Faulk is unable to positively identify the man, pending results from the crime lab in Petal, but suspects the man could have been Geron Diette, 39, who was reported as missing in early October.
He could not determine cause of death or say whether there was any suspicion of foul play, he said.
“Things have to come out,” in the investigation, Faulk said.
