The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department made three arrests late this month concerning several commercial burglaries in the area.

Robert E. Hellmers IV, 21, of 334 Lumpkin Road, Carriere, and Angela E. Creel, 29, of 9438 Old Highway 66, St. Francis, La. were arrested on Oct. 22 for five counts each of commercial burglary, Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said.

Preston N. Martin, 31, of 504 Old Highway 11, Carriere, was arrested separately on Oct. 24, also for five counts of commercial burglary, Ogden said.

The three are allegedly responsible for burglarizing multiple storage units during the month of October, Ogden said.

The burglaries occurred along Highway 43 North and Highway 26 West near Bogalusa, Ogden said.

The suspects were identified from surveillance footage at one of the storage facilities, Ogden said.

All three are being detained at the Pearl River County jail on bonds worth $7,000 for each count, Ogden said.

Martin and Hellmers are also being held for one count each of commercial burglary with the Picayune Police Department, Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri said.

Martin and Hellmers allegedly broke into a mini storage unit in Picayune on Sept. 9, Magri said.

The department is investigating several other mini storage burglaries, and believes Martin and Hellmers could be involved, Magri said.
