Deputies apprehended Kihlken and transported him to the St. Tammany Parish jail, where he is awaiting extradition, Magri said.

Kihlken is being held for one count of commercial burglary from the Picayune Police Department and was additionally charged with resisting arrest by fleeing by the sheriff’s department, Magri said.

Kihlken was identified by Picayune Police detective and the Mississippi Department of Corrections through surveillance footage after several items were reported stolen from the high school on Oct. 18, previous coverage states.

Surveillance footage at Picayune Memorial High School shows Kihlken allegedly breaking into the school between 2:30 and 4:09 that morning, stealing a Canon camera, several action figures and a PowerPoint remote, according to previous coverage.

Kihlken is also serving a three-year suspended sentence for a malicious mischief charge with the Pearl River County Circuit Court, according to previous coverage.

Kihlken was arrested for that charge on Nov. 4, 2015 after breaking into a home at 611 Carroll St., Picayune, previous coverage states.

Kihlken’s arrest will result in prosecutors requesting the court to revoke his suspended sentence and proceed with the new charges, 15th District Attorney Hal Kittrell said previously.
