Local fire departments responded to a residential fire early Tuesday morning in the county.
Pearl River County Fire Marshal Albert Lee said a mobile home located at 3624 Highway 43 North caught fire around 1:30 a.m. that day.
Pine Grove, Henleyfield, Carriere and Nicholson Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene, extinguishing the fire by 3:30 a.m., Lee said.
The occupant of the home, Don Osborne, was away on vacation at the time of the fire, Lee said.
Lee said the cause of the fire is under investigation with assistance from the state fire marshal.
