A Poplarville native was arrested in Smyrna, Delaware after allegedly being found in possession of prescription pills and 196 bags of heroin.
Summer Desport, 20, of Poplarville and a 17-year-old male from Townsend, Del. were arrested Sept. 9 by the Smyrna Police Department after officers received information of a potential illegal drug sale, a release from SPD states.
Officers located the suspects around 2 p.m. in the Smyrna Mart Shopping Center and were taken into custody, the release states.
Upon arrest, the male suspect was allegedly in possession of 130 bags of heroin and $829 in cash and Desport was allegedly in possession of 21 illegal prescription pills, according to the release.
Officers searched the suspects’ vehicle and found another 66 bags of what is believed to be heroin, the release states.
The teen was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in a Tier II quantity with an aggravating factor, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release states.
Desport was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release states.
According to the release, she was arraigned and released on a $1,000 unsecured bond, while the male suspect was arraigned in the presence of his guardian and committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center in default of a $10,250 cash bond.
