A local driver was involved in a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler Tuesday night near Nicholson.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Information Officer for Troop K Chase Elkins, a 2006 Ford Taurus was traveling south on Highway 11 just north of Section Line Road around 8 p.m. when he crossed the centerline, colliding head-on with an 18-wheeler travelling north on Highway 11.
The driver of the Taurus was later identified as Thomas Watt, 27, of Picayune, Elkins said.
Watt and his two passengers were transported to Forrest General Hospital, Elkins said.
The passengers were held for observation and Watt was treated for non-life threatening injuries, Elkins said.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was identified as Eric Davis, 43 of Houston, Texas, Elkins said.
Davis was transported to Highland Community Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released, Elkins said.
MHP troopers did not issue any citations in relation to this accident, Elkins said.
