A Picayune man was involved in a fatal crash late Tuesday night in Iberville Parish.

According to a press release from Louisiana State Police, 33-year-old Alahundro Buckley, of Picayune, was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 near LA 975 when he was struck from behind while operating an 18-wheeler.

Buckley was in the right-hand lane when Marty Wyatt, 50, of Mandeville, rear-ended the 18-wheeler with his 2015 Toyota Tundra, the release states.

Wyatt was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Buckley was restrained and uninjured, the release states.

The release states that it is unclear why Wyatt struck the rear of the 18-wheeler.

Louisiana State Police are still waiting for toxicology reports to determine if Wyatt was impaired at the time of the accident.
