Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision Sunday night on Highway 43 North near Pine Grove Road.
Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers responded to the call at 8:48 p.m. on Aug. 7, MHP Public Information Office Chase Elkins said.
The accident occurred when a 2009 Honda Accord traveling north on Highway 43 crossed the center line and collided with a 2014 silver Dodge Charger traveling south on Highway 43, Elkins said.
The accident blocked both lanes of traffic for an hour, Elkins said.
The driver of the Honda, later identified as Dana M. Poche, 44, of 11 Don Waterman Road, Carrere, was charged with DUI, Elkins said.
The driver, who was pregnant, and the passenger of the Charger were taken to a hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released that night, Elkins said.
