Sandra Kaye Wheat Nelson, age 74 former resident of Diamondhead, passed away July 16, 2016 in Huntsville, AL. She was born and raised in Picayune and was the former co-owner of Picayune Florist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Norma Lazenby Wheat; husband, Marvin Elmer Nelson; daughter, Candace Nelson Rogers.
She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Nelson Smith (Jonathan) of Owens Cross Roads, AL; 4 sisters, Mary Ellen Wheat of Picayune, Jeannie Carapetian of Diamondhead, Wilma Spiers of Bay St. Louis, and Jessica Killen of Port Charlotte, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Haden and Sydney Smith, Brandon Nelson (Staci), Bryce Rogers, and Carson Rogers; 1 great-grandchild, Hunter Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on July 22, 2016 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
