Elza Eugene Harter, 52, of Picayune will be tried August 1 for three counts of child pornography.

Harter was indicted June 14 by a grand jury for knowingly receiving, distributing and possessing child pornography between the dates of Jan. 28, 2014 and April 20, 2014, according to documents filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.

He faces one county of receipt of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography.

The grand jury determined probable cause to seize Harter’s laptop and hard drive.

Harter was released on an unsecured bond of $25,000 June 28 from the U.S. District Court, Southern District after his appearance and arraignment, according to court documents.

Harer’s trial was set for August 1, 2016 at 9 a.m. at the U.S. District Court in Gulfport. The presiding judge will be Chief District Judge Louis Guirola, Jr., court documents state.
