Funeral service will be held July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in First Cornerstone Baptist Church 917 Cayten St. Picayune, MS for Mrs. Jettie Martin McGowan, 60, of Slidell, LA who died June 6, 2016 in her home in Picayune, MS. The Dr. Cynthia Plummer will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of SoSo, MS she was a seamstress, a member of Pentecost Church, Slidell, LA and known as the neighborhood mom.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Martin Sr. and one brother, George Martin Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Willie James McGowan; one son, Donald Smooth Jr (Rose) of Picayune, MS; two daughters, Gabrielle and Shantrelle Smooth, Beaumont, TX; a loving mother, Dorothy Martin; 10 grand children; two great grand children; seven sisters, Reather, New Orleans, LA, Alene, Betty, and Veronica all of Slidell, LA; Sandra, of California, Denise of North Carolina, and Charlene and Anneise of Picayune, MS; three god children, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. in First Cornerstone Baptist Church.
