Funeral services for Mary Ellen Davis, 94, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, will be held Friday, July 1, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune Estes Chapel.
Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune Estes Chapel.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. R.T. Buckley and  Rev. Lourie N. Formby, III will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, MS, she was the Exective Director of the Picayune Housing Authority for over 62 years. Mary Ellen was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Picayune; and a life member and Past Grand Worthy Matron of the local Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lourie Negbert Formby, Sr. and Bertha Stockstill Formby; her husband, MAJ Bennie Davis (USA, Ret.); her daughter, Janet Ellen Davis Allen; her sisters, Hilda Formby Hoffman, Hazel Formby Dailey, and Sara Lynn Formby Huffman; her brothers, Lourie Negbert Formby, Jr. and Ira Ned Formby, Sr.; her niece, Lynda Dailey Case; and her great niece, Ella Marie Formby.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Frances Formby Beeson; her sisters in law, Patricia Formby and Nell Formby; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
