Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ Pastor Robert Preston will officiate, Elder David Simmons is Pastor.
Mary Catherine was born September 20, 1935 to the late  Robert and Bessie Thompson.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age and continued to be a solider for the Lord. She was born, reared, and educated in Cybus Community.
In 1950, she met and married Floyd W. Acker and to this union twelve beautiful children.
Mary was a humble cook for over 40 years in the public school system.
Preceding her in death were her parents:  Robert and Bessie Dees Thompson; husband, Floyd W. Acker Sr.; three sons, Floyd W. Acker Jr., Mack Robert and Emment Douglas;  daughter, Beverly Elaine Acker; brother, Frank Thompson Sr.; stepmother, Lillie Mae Thompson; granddaughter, Lisa Bannister;  grandsons, Shannon and Lil Willie Acker; great granddaughter, Jade Craft.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, June (Eric) Jarvis, Evelyn (Jessie) Murray, Adell Peters, Annell (Bernard) Murray, Cynthia Acker, Josephine Acker (David Jarvies), Marvie (Anderson Bannister) Frank Acker and Jeffery Acker; two sister-in-laws, Secola Acker Crenshaw and Henritta Acker Barnes; 30 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 one hour prior to service time.  Internment will be in the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 16288 Whites Road, Pearlington, MS 39572.  Repast will be held in the Pearlington Community Center, Hwy 604, Pearlington, MS 39572.
