James Thomas “Jim” McQueen passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the age of 83, at Brookdale Senior Living Community.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances McQueen.
He is survived by a loving family, including sons Blair, Jim, and Alan.  Grandchildren, Collin, Tyler, Jared James, Thomas, and Curtis.
Originally from Picayune, Mississippi, Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his master’s from the University of Mississippi.  Jim had a wonderful career as a golf professional and was a freelance illustrator for a number of publications like Golf Digest.  He illustrated over 50 books and wrote syndicated columns for Jack Nicklaus, Billy Casper, and many other golfing legends.
He had a passion for drawing most of his life and turned his talents to videography in his later years.  This was undoubtedly his most impactful career move.  Jim, wife and great friends Larry and Sue Seal traveled all over North America and even into Canada to film National Parks and other beautiful scenes that the Lord has created.  He coined it one time as “God’s thumbprint.”  Using this new medium as a backdrop, he started Jim McQueen Ministries and shared the gospel all over the country wherever he could.
A private family service was held Monday, June 13, 2016 to honor his life as a father, and as a man who loved the Lord.
The following two verses were read at his service and Jim would have encouraged all to read them; John 11:25-26, and John 14:1-4.
