Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Greater Emanuel Baptist Church for Mr. James E. Christmas, 73, of Picayune, MS. James, affectionately known as “Christmas,” died Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Highland Community Hospital. The Rev. Alex Wesco will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of Crystal Springs, MS, James’ job brought him to Picayune, MS in 1974 to rebuild Pilgrim Bound Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Greater Emanuel Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents: John and Joella Christmas; two sisters: Clay V. Powell, and Bobbie Williams; four brothers: Henry D. John Jr., Joseph, and J.D. Christmas.
Survivors include: Wife-Joan Jones Davison-Christmas
of Picayune, MS; one son, Kristerfer “Kris” Christmas of Picayune, MS; three daughters: Nena Christmas Clinton, MS Victoria “Vicki” Rogers, Bryam, MS, and Sherry Christmas, Crystal Springs, MS; 2 stepchildren: Tommy (Vicki) Davison Jr. and Sonya Davison, Picayune, MS; two sisters: Norma Jeun Smith of Prentis MS, and Cheryl Christmas of Brookhaven, MS; 1 brother: Ethan Christmas, Huntington, CT; nine grand children, six great grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Greater Emanuel Baptist Church, Picayune, MS.
