Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. J.T. Fleming. Elder Gary Sumrall and Elder Terry Robertson will officiate. Musical service will be provided by Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Serving as pall bearers will be Michael Creel, Carl Beech, Rodney Beech, Chad McDonald, Scott Fleming, and Michael Blair. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune, MS.
J.T. Fleming was born October 10, 1920 in Hancock County to Ford and Maluvy Fleming.  He passed away on June 2, 2016 at his home at the age of 95. He was a member of Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and lived in the Salem Community. He was united in marriage to Valiree Jones Fleming on May 19, 1939. Mr. Fleming was a WWII Army Veteran and was a master plumber by trade for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Maluvy Fleming; brothers, Carl Fleming, Hayward Fleming, and Oswald Fleming; a daughter Melba Beech.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 77 years, Valiree Jones Fleming of the Salem community; three sons, Steve Fleming and wife Annette of Salem; Troy Fleming and wife Beverly of Picayune; Monte Fleming and wife Patsy of Salem; two daughters, Jeanette Creel and husband Harold of Salem; Linda Cooksey and husband Barkley of Decatur, MS; brothers, Douglas Fleming of McNeill, MS; Paul Fleming of Salem Community; sisters, Hilda Lee of Caesar Community; Odessa Lewis of Brookhaven, MS; Lavada Parker of Picayune, MS; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 6 great, great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, Brenda Hoffman RN and Mr. Fleming’s caregivers, Cindy Skaggs, Vicky Smith, and Dana Neuman for their support and love of this family.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Elder Gary Sumrall and Elder Terry Robertson officiating.
