Applebee’s will be hosting a fundraising event on June 25 as part of a national Make-A-Wish Foundation campaign.
Partnering with Jay Pomes of Talon Management, the Applebee’s Picayune location will have a water slide, bikini car wash and a performance by the South Sounds band.
Admission to the water slide is $5 for the day. The car wash will run from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. South Sounds will begin their performance at 3 p.m. and play until 7 p.m. Admission to the car wash and performance are free, but donations will be accepted throughout the day.
Gift cards to local stores and restaurants will also be raffled, with proceeds going directly to the foundation, Pomes said.
Through the month of June, Applebee’s customers can also donate to the fund and write their name on a Make-A-Wish star that will be displayed in the restaurant, according to the Picayune Applebee’s Facebook page.
According to the foundation website, Make-A-Wish grants children with life-threatening medical problems one wish inspired by their interests and dreams. In 2015, the average wish cost $10,130 per child.
