Graveside Services for Francis “Francy” Joseph Lawton, age 93, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, will be held in his hometown of Summit Hill, Pa. at a later date.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Porambo Funeral Home, Summit Hill, Pa.
Local arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home, Picayune, Miss.
A native of Summit Hill, Pa., he served in the Pacific as a United States Marine during WWII. Francy was an Insurance Salesman for Home Life Insurance Company. He was a lifetime member of the Davis Lawton Yurko American Legion Post in Summit Hill, Pa. Francy was also a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a very proud Irishman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lawton and Margaret McHugh Lawton; his daughter, Lois Helene O’Boril; his brothers, Richard Lawton and John Lawton; and his sisters, Margaret Sommers and Catherine Prosynchak.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 72 years, Helen Haluska Lawton; his daughter, Fran McElmoyle and husband Robert; 3 grandchildren, David (Charlotte) Kerr, Christy (Michael) Bush, and Amy Red Feather; 6 great grandchildren, David Kerr, Jr., Nathan Kerr, Jonah Masko, Gabriel Red Feather, Aliya Bush, and Matthew Bush; and 1 great-great grandson, Ethan Kerr.
