In an effort to allow residents to begin the cleanup and recovery process, Walkiah Bluff park and the surrounding area will close this weekend to every except residents.
According to a release from the Pearl River County Emergency Management office the closure will begin today, Friday March 18 beginning at 6 p.m. and last until Sunday March 20 at 8 p.m.
Law enforcement officials will be strictly enforcing the closure, checking identification of those who attempt to enter the area, said EOC Public Information Officer Tony Bounds.
An informational meeting will be held at the Walkaih Bluff baseball field at 9 a.m. Saturday March 19, for residents only.
