Why do I feel that the only hope for America is for the Christian Church, the body of Christ, to experience a spiritual revival across our land?
Because I don’t believe that our leaders will come together to get the job done. Our nation is too divided over the issues. Further, according to 2 Chronicles 7:14 the Lord God gave King Solomon the remedy for his people when they were experiencing trouble. And, in the verses 19-22, he explains the consequences the nation would suffer for failure to heed his advice for lifestyle changes and obedience of those called by his name.
The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10: 1-11 to the Christian church in Corinth that the old testament was written to provide examples of how a godly person should relate to our creator, and avoid the disobedient behavior of most of the ancient Israelites as Moses led them from Egyptian bondage. Through the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, you can see that ancient Israel repeatedly went through cycles of “falling away from God, receiving his disciplinary wrath, and returning to obedience.” We in America would be wise to take heed of God’s warning.
The following storyline of ancient Israel bears out the truth of the Lord God’s warning in verses 19-22. King Solomon was so richly blessed of God as he ascended the throne of Israel after King David’s death. As the years went by, King Solomon’s relationship with the Lord God disintegrated as he and Israel turned their backs on the Lord God. After Solomon’s death, Israel paid for its falling away from the one true, living God. The country split into the northern and southern kingdoms.
The country of Assyria completed the conquest of the 10 tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel in 722 BC. The country of Babylon conquered the 2 tribes of the southern kingdom of Israel in 586 BC. In each case, the Israelites were taken away in bondage by her captives, losing the sovereignty of their kingdoms. In 1947, the United Nations adopted a plan that provided land in the middle east for the Arabs and land for the scattered Jewish people of Israel. America was a driving force, with President Harry Truman leading the way, in assisting Israel’s return to her homeland given her by the Lord God.
My primary objective with the 3 columns of the prelude is to substantiate my remark that the only hope for America is for the Christian Church to follow the remedy laid out by our creator. I think it is noteworthy that our entire population of 322 million is not required to do this. The Lord God qualifies his promise to those called by his name. His word says it, and that I believe. How he will heal our land, I can’t say! I do not claim to be a prophet of old; but I have the faith that he will do as he says, provided we do our part in obedience to his commands.
Some believe America is on the cusp of a financial system crash of global proportions. The same small number of economists that warned early of the 2007-2008 crash are issuing warnings of a pending crash. We will look at that.
