Once again, women will gather at Pearl River Community College in their little black dresses to raise funds for charity at the Pearl River Community College Development Foundation’s Little Black Dress scholarship luncheon.
According to previous Item coverage, former coordinator of alumni services, Candace Harper started the Little Black Dress charity luncheon as a fun event for women to enjoy a meal, some shopping and lend support to local charities.
This year’s event will raise money for the Student Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, a PRCC release states.
Like last year, the event will feature a catered meal, a fashion show and silent auction.
According to coverage of last year’s event, the event’s sponsors cover the cost of the event so whatever else is raised goes directly to charity. Also, many local boutiques donated accessories to be auctioned off last year.
This year’s luncheon will be held on April 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the home of PRCC president William and Janet Gale Lewis on the Poplarville campus, the release states.
Tickets cost $50 and the deadline to purchase tickets is March 24, the release states.
According to the release, tickets can be purchased by mailing a check to the PRCC Foundation at P.O. Box 5389, Poplarville, MS 39470 or by credit card by calling 601-403-1193.
PRCC will be closed March 14-18 for Spring Break, the release states.
