Services for Essie Rene Badon, 77, of Picayune, will be held Monday February 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ where Elder David Simmons is pastor. Pastor Simmons is officiating at the service. Essie went to be with the Lord on Monday February 23, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS.
Essie Rene Badon, fondly known by friends and family as “Mank or Aunt Mank” was born in Tylertown, MS on October 10, 1938 to her parents, John and Grace Ann Badon, and was one of eleven children.
She worked for over 20 years as a domestic professional. She was a faithful member of the Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Jessie Eaton as well as under the leadership of the current pastor, Elder David Simmons where she served as a passionate member of the mother’s board and hospitality department.
Essie will be sorely missed by many friends and family members who will not forget her directness and how she opened up her heart and showed her love by hosting many family reunions at her home.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Grace Ann Badon; three sisters,  Ruby Badon, Jessie Rene Badon, and Lexie Badon; six brothers, George Kelly Badon, Ellis Badon, Edward Badon, Johnny Badon, Alton Badon  and  J.W. Badon.
Essie leaves cherishable memories to: her two sons, Charles Badon (Tracy) of Picayune, and Kenneth R. Badon (Timeka) of Alabama; one daughter, Jennifer Williams (Palmer) of Maryland;  one sister, Julia Grice of Louisville, KY; one dear niece, Ada “Danny” Badon of Maryland; eleven grandchildren; eleven  great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 29, 2016 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ. Interment will be in Picayune Cemetary. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
