Memorial services for Dale Turner Shanks, 75, of Picayune, MS who passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Picayune, MS.
Services are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Megan Becnel will officiate at the service.
A native of Bathgate, ND, he was a manager in the trucking industry and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son who was taken too soon and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He served for seven years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul T. Shanks; daughter, Deborah Yvonne Shanks; granddaughter, Tiffany Nichole Shanks; brother in law, Olaf Gustafson; nephew, Mark Loock.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of over 55 loving years, Myrna Rae Russell Shanks; daughters, Yvonne Aileen Horton, Tonna Marie Shanks and Nancy Howe; son, Michael Turner Shanks; grandchildren, Jamie Marie Domina and husband Dusty, Mandy Nicole Horton, Anthony Michael Shanks, Christopher Lee Shanks, and Tiffany Knowles; great grandchildren, Gus, Garrette, Alaina, Cody, and Mason; mother, Helen A. Cull Shanks; sisters, Paula Gustafson, Mary Ann Loock and husband Henry, Judy Thordarson and husband Steven; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
