Last month, Great American Publishers announced the completion of the book, “Mississippi Church Suppers,” and one of the featured recipes hails from Community Missionary Baptist Church, located at 886 Barth Road in Poplarville.
According to a release from Great American Publishers, the book includes recipes from 70 churches. A church profile and picture will also be included.
“This is not your average church cookbook,” says Brooke Craig, Director at Great American Publishers. “This book combines favorite recipes from multiple churches across the state with fun-to-read information about the churches plus lots of scriptures into one full-color all-inspiring cookbook.”
Roger and Sheila Simmons, owners of Great American Publishers, want to help smaller churches produce their own cookbook. It’s difficult for these types of churches to fund their own, Sheila Simmons said in the release.
“It’s been a labor of love,” Project Manager Anita Musgrove said in the release. “Contacting the churches, securing participation, gathering materials, editing and compiling, all the while praying for the book’s success, has taken a year of hard work. But I think everyone who sees the book will agree that the time invested by so many people was well worth the effort.”
“Mississippi Church Suppers” consists of more than 300 recipes, the release states. Some of the recipes also include a photograph.
The book is available at some of the participating churches, the release states. For more information, contact Great American Publishers at 1-888-854-5954 or visit www.mschurchsuppers.com.
