Paul Denis Smith, Sr., 79, of Perkinston, passed away, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Crane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation two hours prior to the service, Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Smith was born October 4, 1936 in Gulfport to Desmal C. Smith, Sr. and Mercedes Trochessett Smith. A loving, devoted family man, Paul never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from South Central Bell in 1991 as a manager. He was a member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church. He was an alumnus of Pearl River Community College and an United States Army Veteran. He was a member of Steep Hollow Masonic Lodge and the NRA.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two siblings, D.C. Smith and Joyce Shaw.
Family members include his wife, Eva Lee Spiers Smith; three children, Danette Smith-Ladner, Cammie Smith-Cuevas, Chip Smith; one brother, Louis Smith; six grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Kellie Smith, Cody (Whitney) Cuevas, Christian (Kolton) Fairley, Aaron (Holly) Ladner, Arica Ladner; four great grandchildren, Luke Sones, Harlee Sones, Layla Fairley, and Wyatt Cuevas.
