OBIT Clarence Hives

Funeral services for Clarence Earvin Hives will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Rev. Edward Stubbs will officiate at the services. Rev. Donald L. Parker is Pastor.
Clarence Earvin Hives affectionately known as “Bama”, beloved dad, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend departed this earth, January 19, 2016 after a brief illness.
Clarence Hives was born the fifth of seven children to Leslie and Mary Hives on July 7, 1938 in Mount Vernon, Al.  Preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy; two brothers: William and Walter.
He was a graduate of Mobile County public schools Class of 1956 and moved to Picayune, MS. He met and married Corinne Stubbs Hives on March 16, 1959.  To this union three children were born, G. Denata Hives Johnson, Sandra L. Hives McCray, and Sharron L. Hives.
He relocated to River Rouge, Michigan where he lived for almost 30 years and worked for General Motors until he medically retired.  Upon retiring Clarence moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1992.
He leaves to cherish his memories: children: G. Denata (Eric) Hives Johnsonn, Sandrea (Darryll) McCray, Sharon Hives all of Arlington, TX, Carl Edwards (Xavier) of Mt. Vernon, AL, Valerie (Steve) Allen of Milwaukee, WI, Belinda (Gregory) Collins, Helena (Carlos) Lawson, Clarence Collins Jr., Rodney Collins, Lachelle Johnson, all of River Rouge, MI; one brother, Rudolph Hives; two sisters: Mary (George) York and Audrey Hives Cooper; four brother-in-laws: Rev. Edward (Deloris) Stubbs, Ogie Stubbs Jr., Charles Stubbs, Rev. Thomas (Joyce) Stubbs; three sister-in-laws: Evelyn Stubbs, Alice S. Wilkes, and Joyce (Morris) Stubbs Burton; 35 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery.
