Last week, we reported on the resources offered at the Poplarville School District’s Family Resource Center.
At the center, students are granted the opportunity to use a variety of educational resources designed to help them excel in the classroom, which can lead to successes in college and the workplace.
The center’s computers and library are also available to adults enrolled in school who may not have access to such things.
This is a wonderful asset to the school district and the community.
A school district that cares about its pupils is one thing, but a district that also strives to help adults in need is one that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
It’s more important than ever to cultivate young minds. There are many distractions in today’s world, such as electronics and social media, that have the potential to distract a student from what’s important.
An education is one of the most valuable tools we have.
Without it, our employment prospects can be grim and we may lead to a life not taking advantage of the potential that lies inside.
Once you have that degree, no one can take it away from it you. It’s one of the keys to living a productive life.
We must say thank you to the Poplarville School District for offering this resource to the community.
It’s a wonderful tool designed to enhance the lives of all who use it, which means good things for Poplarville’s future.
It’s important to mold the business owners and city leaders of the future, for they will be the ones who will carry on the torch of prosperity and build upon the blocks of those who came before.
The center is located at 1349 South Main St. and will be closed until Jan. 4. It is open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. For more information, contact staff at 601-795-1349.
