Funeral service will be held November 7, 2015 at 12:00 noon, visitation at 10:00 a.m. in Weems Chapel United Methodist Church
for Mrs. Mary Alice Byrd of Picayune, MS, who died October 29, 2015 in Mound Bayou, MS. The Rev. Ada Clay will officiate the service. Burial will be in Henleyfield Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of Prichard, AL, Mrs. Byrd move to Picayune, MS and join the Greater Pleasant Valley Baptist  Church, later Mrs. Byrd united with Weems Chapel United Methodist Church with her husband, Carey Byrd Sr.
Preceded in death, by her husband, Carey Byrd Sr., parents, Mr. Edward Moore and Mrs. Marzella Moore; stepfather, Dennis Woodson; daughter, Marzella King; grandson, Little Carey Byrd; grandmother, Sally Rose; 2 brothers, George Nicholson, and Dennis Woodson; 2 sister-in-laws, Noble Woodson, and Clay Lee Woodson; 3 aunts, 3 uncles, and 1 brother-in-law.
Mrs. Byrd survivors include: 4 sons, Robert Byrd (Tes), Carey Byrd Jr. (Vertis), Charles Byrd (Teresa), and Larry Byrd; 5 daughters, Alice Logan (Melvin), Tommie Diane Anderson, Sandra Pates (Amos), Terry Young (Eddie), and Rachel Holt; 2 sisters, Ina Ruth Woodson, and Sally Woodson McCree; 2 brothers, Willis Woodson, and Carl Woodson; 3 sister-in-laws, Willie Mae Woodson, Rosie Lee Nicholson, and Ossie Luckett;
She also leave to mourn, 39 grand children, 22 great grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
