Services for Evangelist Ruby Lee Robey, 67, of Tylertown, will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where Rev. Donald Parker is Pastor. Host church is Lighthouse Pentecostal; Elder Harvey Bernard is host pastor. Ruby L. Robey was born on February 16, 1948 in Chicago, IL to the late Rufus Robey and the late Camella May.
She was a Headstart teacher and a social worker for Pearl River Valley Opportunity. She was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Picayune where she was ordained as an evangelist under the leadership of Elder Harvey Bernard. She was an active participant in Global Prison Ministry and the Single Women’s Ministry.
Evangelist Robey transitioned to her heavenly home on October 17, 2015 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, MS, embraced by her loving son and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, James & Tattena Galloway; paternal grandparents, Dudley & Novirda Robey; two sisters, Shirley Brumfield and Marie May.
She leaves to cherish her love and memories, her only loving and devoted son, Nicholas Robey; three sisters, Etta Ruth Gums, Paulette Conerly, and Cornell Williams; four brothers, James May, Charles May, Perry Robey, and Prentiss Robey; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Internment will be in Picayune Cemetery. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
