Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 12:00 noon in Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ for Mr. Ellis Whitehead age 71 of Picayune, MS who died
October 15, 2015 in Oschner Hospital, New Orleans, LA. The Rev. Ada Clay will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery  under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of Cybur, MS he was a produce manager for Winn Dixie and later a machine operator for St. Joe Brick Masonry. He was a member of Weems Chapel United Methodist Church.
Ellis leaves his treasured memories to his beloved wife, Ruby Thompson Whitehead; four loving children, Carlotta
(Clifford) Chattman, Russell Whitehead, Yolanda (Curtis) Smith, and Dr. Ursula Whitehead all of Picayune, MS; his adoring mother, Rosa L. Whitehead; four devoted sisters, Martha Whitehead, Geraldine Whitehead, Mildred Whitehead, all of Picayune, Mrs. and Dr. Jessie Whitehead, of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Dr. Joe B. (Sonya) Whitehead, of Greensboro, NC and Jackie (Doris) Whitehead of Picayune, MS; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
Preceded in death by one granddaughter, Bobbi Wright; father, Joe B. Whitehead; brother, Eddie B. Whitehead.
Wake services will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in Baylous Funeral Home. Visitation on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Weems Chapel United Methodist Church from 9:30-10:15 a.m., and at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon.
