OBIT Agnes Lampton

Who can find a virtuous woman?…..Proverbs 31:10
Mother Agnes “Granny” Lampton was born to Jessie and Nettie Phillips on October 5, 1927, in Lumberton, Mississippi.  She departed this earth on Friday, September 11, 2015 at approximately 11:58 p.m.
Mother Agnes Lampton accepted Christ at an early age and immediately became involved in many ministries throughout her lifetime. She would speak with motherly love and concern instead of criticism, which often inspired the many people she spoke to daily. She was instrumental to a lot of young people getting back into church through her faith and devoted dedication to serve Christ.
In 1950, Mother Agnes married Leroy Lampton of Tylertown, MS. and together they moved to Picayune and became active in the community.
Throughout her life she achieved many accomplishments, but she was most proud of obtaining her high school diploma at the age of 71. She also participated in several auxiliaries in the church and was active in many senior programs in the church.
She was employed under Dr. Donald Berry, Sr. of Picayune, MS for over 40 years.  She will be sorely missed by the Larsen Family, Mrs. Samples (Western Auto), and many other business leaders in the community.
Mother Agnes Lampton’s Homegoing services are Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ, 500 N. Beech Street, Picayune, MS 39466. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery.
Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home  (601) 798-4469
