OBIT Jimmy Dodd

Funeral Services for Jimmy R. “Papa Dodd”, age 81 of  Picayune, MS, who passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Josh Braddy, grandson, will officiate the service.
Papa Dodd loved Jesus Christ and everyone who knew him. He was a witness to everyone. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was a resident of Pearl River County for 43 years. Papa Dodd served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a Mechanic by trade and woodworker by choice. Papa Dodd was a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune, Gideons International, Sunday School Teacher, and served at the Jail Ministry in past years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Curtis Dodd and Gladys Cofield Dodd; his brothers and sisters, John Dodd, Cinda Olah, Braxton Dodd, Frieda Harrison, Ruble Dodd, and Juanita Dodd.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 58 years, Anna Campbell Dodd; his children, James Dodd, Timmy (Paula) Dodd, Sandra (Willie) Braddy, Thomas “Kojak” (Sherry) Dodd, Donald (Ginny) Dodd, Sherman (Becky) Dodd, and Jill (Chad) Frierson; 27 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Gainey and Sharron (Esteen) Rusk; his brother, A.J. (Corrina) Dodd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
