Services for Georgia Mae Lewis, 62, of Carriere, will be held Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at New Hebron Baptist Church. The Pastor K Martin Thomas will officiate at the service.
Georgia Mae Lewis was born on December 5, 1952 in Carriere, MS to the late R D Clemons & Frances Clemons.
At an early age she united with New Hebron Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Reverend E.H. Hart. She has been a lifelong member of New Hebron where she has served in many capacities, including, choir member, mission secretary, sunday school teacher, and education committee. She was a 1970 graduate of Pearl River Central High School.
Georgia was united in holy matrimony to Jerome Lewis, this union was blessed with two beautiful children.
Georgia Mae Lewis ended her earthly walk on August 26, 2015 at her home embraced by her loving family, when she entered into a peaceful rest.
She is preceded in death by his parents, RD & Frances Clemons; and one sister, Unice Clemons.
She leaves cherished memories to: her husband of 43 years, Jerome Lewis; one daughter, Nadia (Stephen) Bonds, of Carriere; one son, Bryan Lewis, of Carriere; two sisters, Ruby (Clifton) Lewis, of Paramont, CA, and Susie (John) Hudson, of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, W.G. (Jennie) Clemons, of New Orleans, LA; four grandchildren, Jecorey, Kaneisha, Stephen I., and Alexis; one half-sister, Doris Ann Buckley, of Hattiesburg, MS; one half-brother, Donald (Debbie) Pearson, of Poplarville; and a loving, devoted neighbor and friend, Carrie Spencer, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Carriere/New Hebron Cemetery.
