Earlier this month, a Picayune woman was arrested by officers with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and charged with multiple drug-related felonies.
On Aug. 1, Pearl River County narcotics detectives, along with Pearl River County patrol deputies, executed a search warrant on a residence controlled by Kristian Lumpkin, 33, of 2 Cheetah Lane, Picayune, Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison said. It is unclear whether Lumpkin owned or rented the residence, he said.
“This investigation was started when we received community complaints of suspicious drug activity,” Allison said.
During a search of the residence, narcotics detectives and deputies allegedly recovered methamphetamine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, a digital scale and baggies as evidence, Allison said.
Lumpkin was arrested and charged with three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, Allison said.
At the time of her arrest, she was on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Lumpkin is still incarcerated at the Pearl River County Detention Facility, Allison said. MDOC put a hold on her and she will be kept until her court date, which has yet to be determined, Allison said.
