Friday, deputies with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department arrested two people for commercial burglary and remanded one juvenile to the custody of the Department of Human Services.
On July 3 at 10:35 a.m., the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department was contacted about a residential burglary at a residence located in the 300 block of Albert Prince Rd., Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
The homeowner, who recently had a tenant move, arrived to clean the property and noticed the door was forced open, Tucker said.
Upon entering the residence, the owner saw an unknown female and a small child inside, Tucker said. He also noticed a male sitting in a truck outside the home. Tucker said the male became belligerent with the property owner, who then called 911.
At that point, all three jumped into the truck in an attempt to leave, Tucker said. The driver rammed the truck three times into the side of the residence and an adjacent camper as he was trying to leave, Tucker said.
The three then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, Tucker said.
Both adults were taken into custody by patrol deputies after their arrival on scene, Tucker said.
Through further investigation, detectives learned that a computer and television had been taken from the residence during an earlier burglary of the same home. It was determined by investigators the suspects had made at least two trips to the residence, Tucker said.
Through the investigation, deputies were also able to determine where the stolen items were being kept and returned them to the victim, Tucker said.
Andrew James Parris, 28, showed two addresses upon booking, which were 83 White Chapel Rd., Carriere and 66 long Ranch Dr., Carriere. He was charged with one count of commercial burglary.
Elizabeth Toya Reighard, 28, of 83 White Chapel Rd., Carriere was also charged with one count of commercial burglary.
Deputies contacted the Department of Human Services, who took the 4-year-old child into custody.
