Funeral Services for Louie Martin, age 82, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 p.m.at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Brother Dewayne Blackwell will officiate the service.
A native of Pine, LA, he was a Pulp Wood Hauler, a Carpenter, and a member of Picayune Church of God. Louie was a devoted husband, father, paw paw, and Man of God who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was always there with a listening ear, a gentle smile and a helping hand for the ones he loved. Until we meet again, “We love you, ‘Daddy’ and we will see you in a little while.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stella Baughtman Martin and Lucious Martin; son, Tracy Martin; five brothers, Pete, Ralph, W.T., Lubbie, T.C. Martin; four sisters, Dellie Graham, Christine Greer, Janice Martin and Annette Braddock.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 62 wonderful years, Evelyn Frierson Martin; daughters, Connie Mitchell and husband Ray, Kay Adams and husband Glennis Penton, Stacey Laizer and husband Henry; grandchildren, Shane Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Tameika Marchant and husband Gabe, Jeremy Adams, Lance Adams, Brittany Whitaker, and Cody Lee, great grandchildren, Ava, Braden, Bradley, Taylor, Wade, Kaytlin, D.J., Cailey, Collyn, Brooklynn, Brance, and Allie; great great grandchild, Zoey Kay Greene; brothers, Lonnie Martin and Alphonse Martin.
