Services for Clara Dean Spriggs, 60, of Picayune who passed away on July 25, 2015, will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:30 am at St Matthew Baptist Church.  The Reverend Gerald Nettles will officiate at the service.  Rev. Dr. Michael Kelley is pastor.

Clara D. Spriggs was born on November 25, 1954 in to the late Sherman Spriggs and the late Delmar Spriggs in Tylertown, MS.

While Clara was at young age, the family relocated to Picayune, Mississippi where she would reside for the remainder of her life.  Shortly after moving to Picayune, Clara united with the St. James A.M.E. Church under the great leadership of Reverend Thomas.  She served as a faithful member.

Clara was educated at G. W. Carver Schools where she was a member of the Class of 1974.  Shortly after high school, Clara obtained a position at L. O. Crosby Memorial Hospital in 1975.  She was dedicated and loyal for 39 years.

Clara Dean Spriggs ended her earthy existence on July 25, 2015 when God dispatched his angels to transition Clara to her heavenly journey to eternity..  She is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman & Delmar Spriggs; one brother, John Earl (PeeWee) Spriggs; one nephew, Christopher Spriggs; and one niece, Tara Spriggs.

She leaves cherishable memories to: his only son, Donnell Spriggs, of Picayune, MS; two sisters, Needa Spriggs, of Picayune and Betty Raiford, of Sandy Hook, MS; three brothers, James (Polk) Spriggs, of Picayune, Bailey Commodore, of LaComb, LA, and Willie Spriggs, of Sandy Hook, MS; two uncle, Leon (Mary Lee) Spriggs, of New Orleans, LA and Ezell of Tylertown, MS; four grandchildren, Jeremy Merrill, of Indianapolis, IN, Scottie Merrill, and Tykell Spriggs, both of Picayune, and Olivia Spriggs, of Las Cruses, NM; two great-grandchildren, Kensley Merrill, of Indianapolis, IN and Paitly Friscilla, of Slidell, LA; two God-daughters, Ida Mae Tyson-Kennard and Maria Mitchell, both of Picayune, MS;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment will be in Picayune Cemetery.  Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
