Through a cooperative effort between the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officials with the Poplarville Police Department recovered 11 of the 14 firearms stolen from a business early Friday morning, Poplarville Police Department Capt. Rossie Creel said.
According to previous Item coverage, at about 4 a.m. Friday morning, Poplarville law enforcement officers responded to an alarm activation at Little River Outdoors, located at 1214 S. Main St., Creel said in the previous story.
Upon arrival, officers were told by the owner the store had been burglarized of $10,000 to $15,000 worth of guns and ammunition were stolen, previous coverage states.
Several arrests were made Sunday in connection with the burglary, Creel said, including 18-year-old Terrance J. Polion of 136 Greenview Dr., Picayune. He was charged with one count of commercial burglary and one count of possession of stolen firearms, Creel said. Other charges may be pending, Creel said. Monday, Judge Hal Breland set Polion’s bond at $25,000, Creel said.
Four 16-year-olds were also arrested in connection with the burglary, Creel said. One was charged with one count commercial burglary and the remaining three were charged with one count each of accessory after the fact of commercial burglary, Creel said.
Officers with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and Poplarville Police Department also executed a search warrant at 359 Peters Rd. in Poplarville, as part of the same case.
Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said Creel contacted the investigative division to request assistance related to information regarding the possible location of the firearms stolen from the Poplarville business.
Sunday, several sheriff’s department investigators and deputies, along with Poplarville Police Department officers, secured and searched the residence, Tucker said. A .45 caliber pistol was recovered in the bedroom and was identified by Creel as one of the guns stolen during the burglary, Tucker said.
During the search, officers also located methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia in various rooms of the residence, Tucker said.
Officers took four of the occupants into custody at that time, Tucker said.
David J. Bowden, 46, of 359 Peters Rd., Poplarville was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm. He is also going to be charged with a possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Tucker said.

Law enforcement officials with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office also helped recover five of the stolen firearms in Bogalusa, La., Creel said.
“It was a good cooperative effort that resulted in us being able to close this case,” Creel said.
