Sarah Broadway Vance passed away on Monday June 8, 2015 at the age of 75 in Picayune, Mississippi. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her in her struggle with cancer and ultimately gave her peace.

Sarah was born to the late Aaron and Opal Broadway, January 16, 1940 in Huntsville, Alabama.

On November 22, 1978 she and her beloved husband Robert Rodney Vance were joined in holy matrimony, truly a marriage made in heaven. They were married for 37 years until her death.

Sarah was a proud member of Little Providence Baptist Church where Reverend Kevin Hart was her pastor. She had become a precious member of this church where she was a friend to everyone and her church members loved her dearly.

Sarah is survived by her beloved husband Robert Rodney Vance; seven children: Cecil Rodell Walker Jr. of Bay St. Louis, MS.; Elizabeth Walker Lasseigne of Pearlington, MS.; Julia Walker Dauenhauer of Bay St. Louis, MS; Robert Michael Vance of Bay St. Louis, MS.; Vickie Vance Demarest of Loganville, GA.; Kimberly Vance Lyons of Cary, NC.; and Kenneth Charles Vance of Apex, NC; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; her precious pets Jabeaux, Foxy, and Pearl; and numerous friends.

The funeral service for Sarah will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, visitation at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m., at Little Providence Baptist Church, 21150 Highway 43, Picayune, MS 39466, in the Catahoula Community.  Reverend Charles Ray Thomas, Jr., will officiate.  Per Sarah’s wishes she will be cremated.  Funeral and cremation entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home, 1011 Rosa Street, Picayune, MS 39466.

Sarah has been a lifelong Alabama fan, Roll Tide Roll.
