Saturday, deputies with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s office were able to apprehend 44-year-old Stephen Miller of 356 Zion Road, due to tips provided by members of the community.
According to previous Item coverage, Miller was wanted in for his alleged part in a May 23 residential burglary, Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
Last Thursday, Miller fled in his vehicle from Louisiana law enforcement officials and into Mississippi, where he later fled on foot, Tucker said in the previous story.
“After Miller’s information was posted on our Facebook page, the community came together and gave us a lot of information,” Tucker said. “Saturday, we received a call from a citizen, who spotted Miller near Logan’s convenience store on Hwy. 11.”
Miller was taken into custody by deputies without incident, Tucker said.
He was charged with one count residential burglary and one count of commercial burglary, Tucker said. He is also being held for the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a parole violation, Tucker said.
“We want to give the community a big thank you,” Tucker said. “Miller’s capture was due to the fact that the community was interested. The Facebook page and local media help bridge our department with the community and get the information to our citizens.”
